For three days, Nice will host the VIII International Congress of Victims of Terrorism. After Bogotรก, Madrid, Valencia, Salamanca, Medellin, and for the second time since Paris in 2011, the International Congress of Victims of Terrorism will be held in France.

It is in Nice, a martyr city, that the French Association of Victims of Terrorism (AfVT), and its president Guillaume Denoix de Saint Marc have decided to organize, over three days, debates bringing together victims of terrorist acts from around the world and international experts, in the presence of many personalities and the King and Queen of Spain.

Nearly 700 victims of terrorism from 35 countries worldwide will participate over three days in various round tables that will punctuate the congress, focusing on the reception and follow-up of children, especially as more than 900 have been treated at the Lenval Hospital in Nice since July 14, 2016.

The first International Congress of Victims of Terrorism was organized in 2004 in Madrid by the San Paolo CEU University Foundation and the Spanish Foundation for Victims of Terrorism. Designed to recognize the status of victims, the International Congress of Victims of Terrorism has a dual objective: to make the voices of victims heard and to make their status recognized by society and authorities.

The French Association of Victims of Terrorism provides daily assistance to victims of attacks through personalized psychological and legal support, as well as guidance in all their legal, administrative, and judicial procedures.

A tribute to the victims of terrorism will take place on Saturday late morning at the Villa Massรฉna.
