Last night, the presentation of the 2020-2021 season of the Nice National Theatre was held. It was a vibrant program that was announced by Muriel Mayette-Holtz (Director of the Theatre) and Ella Perrier (General Secretary of the Theatre), accompanied by the TNN troupe.
Last night, there was a crowd at the Nice National Theatre. However, there was no performance for theater lovers that evening, but a detailed announcement of the 2020-2021 season programming. “Good evening everyone, I am so happy to reach this moment when we can take you on a journey through the program,” expressed Mayette-Holtz as she took the stage of the theater. The evening began with a lot of enthusiasm and also with a song by the TNN troupe on the microphone. The group consisted of musician Franรงois Barucco, director Edouard Signolet, and actors Augustin Bouchacourt, Eve Pรฉreur, Frรฉderic de Goldfiem, Jonathan Gensburger, Thibaut Kuttler, and Pauline Huriet.
A program revolving around the great texts of Europe and the Mediterranean
“I hope we will take a journey, and that the TNN will be a reference identity in terms of the repertoire of Europe and the Mediterranean,” added Muriel Mayette-Holtz. This year, the spectators of Nice’s theater will travel between France, Italy, Greece, Spain, and Portugal. This journey will take them “on different boats and towards different writings we wish to discover or rediscover,” continues the Director. This season, the theater offers a varied program, with dance, puppetry, magic, and even circus on the agenda.
Women will be in the spotlight, as out of 46 performances, 20 are directed by them. A coincidence, explains the director, but one that delights the TNN group.
The show “Les Parents Terribles”, directed by Christophe Perton, will open the event, running from September 29 to October 3, followed by “Bande-annonce Goldoni” from October 6 to 10, then “La double inconstance” from November 4 to 6, and “Petite Leรงon de zoologie ร lโusage des princesse” from November 12 to 20, for the Autumn Prelude.
