As France has just surpassed the milestone of one million vaccinated people, the number of daily infections and deaths continues to rise. Here is the Covid update…


23,924 new infections were recorded in 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,035,181 cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the crisis, according to data from Public Health France.

321 deaths were also recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 78,877 since the outbreak of the epidemic. In hospitals, it’s now been several days since the threshold of 25,000 patients was surpassed. Today, health authorities counted 25,864 people hospitalized with Covid-19. Additionally, 1,174 new admissions have been reported. Among the hospitalized patients, 2,886 have been placed in intensive care units.

Regarding vaccination, 1,008,720 people have been vaccinated in the country. The news appeared on social media, following a tweet by the Prime Minister, Jean Castex. This brings hope to the government’s goals: to vaccinate between 1.3 and 1.4 million French people by the end of January.
