Dunkerque will go back under the lockdown threshold for the next three weekends. Despite the progress in the vaccination campaign and some improvements, notably in the Alpes-Maritimes, the pressure on hospitals remains quite strong. Here is the Covid updateโฆ
In the last 24 hours, health authorities have recorded 23,302 new cases of Covid-19 and 299 deaths in France, according to the latest information provided by the agency Santรฉ Publique France.
The total count now stands at 3,932,862 confirmed cases and 89,327 deaths (64,083 of which occurred in hospitals) since the beginning of the health crisis.
The test positivity rate has slightly increased: 7.3% (compared to 7.2% the previous day). As of March 8, 3,996,329 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine across the national territory (an increase of 114,362 compared to the previous day).
9,608 new hospitalizations and 2,103 admissions to intensive care have been recorded over the last seven days.
In the PACA region
As of March 9, 1,532 people are hospitalized (-32), 500 people are in intensive care (+8), and 6,034 people have died in hospitals since the beginning of the crisis (+35).
In the Alpes-Maritimes, there are 375 conventional hospitalizations (-9), 125 patients in intensive care (+2), 188 patients in follow-up and rehabilitation care (-7), and 1,146 deaths in hospitals since the beginning of the epidemic (+11).
From March 1 to March 8, the test positivity rate is 8.2% in the PACA region (compared to 8.1% from February 22 to 28). In the Alpes-Maritimes, it is 10.2%, compared to 10.1% previously. The incidence rate has decreased: in the PACA region, 329 / 100,000 compared to 369 / 100,000 from February 22 to 28. In the Alpes-Maritimes, 484 / 100,000 inhabitants compared to 566 / 100,000 from February 22 to 28.
As of March 7, 309,035 people have received at least a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in the PACA region and 156,319 have received both doses. More than 30,000 doses of the vaccine were administered this weekend thanks to the significant mobilization of many actors and volunteers for vaccination as part of the fight against the pandemic.
