As every year for the past 8 years, the inhabitants of Nice and its surroundings gather for an artistic meeting at the Galerie de la Marine (59, Quai des Etats-Unis-Nice) to attend the exhibition of young artists who graduated from the National School of Fine Arts of Nice.
” Et Transir ” allows the public to see and understand the work of two artists, Mathilde Dadaux and Adrien Menu, who were recipients of the 2016 awards for young creation.
Mathilde Dadaux contributes in the field of performance and the intangible forms of art, while Adrien Menu works on sculpture and painting.
By observing Mathilde Dadaux‘s work, she offers us experiences to live that change our perspective, whereas Adrien Menu operates differently.
His sculptures and paintings will inspire industrial and even domestic settings.
The exhibition of these two artists is currently at the Galerie de la Marine until January 28.
Biskra. Dreaming of an Oasis
Until January 28 at the Matisse Museum (164, avenue des Arènes de Cimiez), immerse yourself for a few hours in one of the exotic countries near an oasis of Biskra and its surroundings in the spring of 1906 in Algeria.
The French painter Henri Matisse stayed for two weeks at the oasis of Biskra and captured the essence of the place in a single painting, ” Rue à Biskra” (Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen).
He was profoundly marked by his first contact with the Orient, and it is with this exhibition that the Matisse Museum offers the public a cultural insight into what Biskra was at the beginning of the 20th century.
Through photographs and postcards from the era, different tourist spots reveal themselves, willingly exploiting the orientalist cliché.
