The City Council has approved “the renaming of the territories Center, East, West, and City Heart as described in the resolution and to approve adjustments regarding the current boundaries of the territories, which constitute the local territorial organization of the city of Nice in order to allow citizens to clearly identify themselves,” states the text of the resolution adopted during last Thursday’s session.
To this end, a consultation was launched with the associative network, neighborhood committees, and traders’ associations from February 10 to 19, 2021.
What are the newly adopted names for the territories?
Ø the Center territory becomes the territory Heart of Nice/Couòr de Nissa,
Ø the East territory becomes the territory Shores of Paillon/Riba dóu Paioun,
Ø the City Heart territory becomes the territory Historic Nice/Nissa istòrica,
Ø the West territory becomes the territory West Nice/Nissa pounenta,
Ø the Nice Hills territory remains named Nice Hills/Couòla
nissardi,
Ø the Highlands of Nice territory remains named Highlands of Nice/Nissa auta
Now that the names are expressed in “nissart,” there is no doubt that the citizens will feel prouder.
