This is a first step towards a health passport that has just been launched in France. The French Covid-19 patient tracing application “TousAntiCovid” has now integrated, as of this Monday, a notebook allowing one to prove the positive or negative result of a virus detection test, whether PCR or antigen.
Indeed, starting April 29, Covid-19 vaccination injections can also be stored in this virtual health notebook.
“TousAntiCovid-Carnet aims to digitally store (in the application) and securely (a) certified proof of a negative or positive test and, tomorrow, a certified vaccination certificate,” explained Cédric O, the Secretary of State for Digital, who congratulated himself by stating, “France is the first country (in the EU) to make this functionality available to its citizens.”
A green light from the European Commission, expected in June, will then be needed to generalize it to cross-border travelers.
The TousAntiCovid application has been downloaded by 14,837,264 million people since June 2, 2020, and has notified 172,578 people of a risk of exposure to Covid-19, according to the latest figures from the French government.
