OGC Nice experienced a tumultuous season, marked by the firing of Patrick Vieira and results that fell short of the club’s ambitions. The Riviera club ended the season coasting, as shown by their loss last weekend against Dijon (2-0), the team at the bottom of the table, which had been on a 12-game losing streak.
Recently, Nice had shown some promise with fine performances against Marseille (3-1) and at La Beaujoire against Nantes (1-2). However, the results of the last two matches were disappointing, with a draw against Reims (0-0) at the Allianz Riviera and thus the loss to Dijon (0-2).
Additionally, Nice will be without their top scorer Gouiri (12 goals) for this match. Nevertheless, the Eagles have reserves, as Danish international Kasper Dolberg is expected to lead the attack.
On the other hand, Montpellier is having an interesting season. With 6 and 5 points behind Lens and OM, a comeback by MHSC is conceivable in the last 5 matchdays. Furthermore, Michel Der Zakarian’s men will have another objective in this latter part of the season with the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, as they just won midweek against Canet-Roussillon (1-2).
