Despite a complicated 2017/2018 season, the Nice volleyball players are still in the running for a playoff qualification with two games remaining. They host Chaumont (2nd) at the Giamarchi hall.
The regular season is nearing its end, and the NVB remains stuck in the lower part of the standings (10th).
Tonight, they host Chaumont, the runner-up to Tours in the standings and also the reigning French champion. It’s safe to say that a mountain will be coming tonight to the Giamarchi hall.
But this mountain can still be conquered. Even though the Chaumont team is on a two-game winning streak, they have lost a quarter of their matches this season (5 losses).
Nice can raise their level of play in a match
On their part, Nice just experienced another defeat (a heavy 0-3 loss in Poitiers). Nonetheless, Mladen Kasic’s men have won 3 times in their last 3 home games. Among these 3 victories, the one against Paris, one of the top teams in this league, is the most noteworthy. It alone proves that in a single match, the NVB can overturn even the biggest teams in Ligue A.
Given their difficulties away from home, Nice needs to win to keep thinking about the playoffs.
