Inauguration of a new microscope at Lenval

The Lenval Foundation announced yesterday in its amphitheater their deep gratitude for receiving financial support from the Foundation of the National Grand Lodge of France, allowing them to acquire a state-of-the-art ophthalmic surgical microscope.

Currently indispensable for highly precise eye surgery of the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, as well as the eyes’ accessory organs (muscular, lacrimal, palpebral, orbital) and detailed ocular examinations under general anesthesia of sick infants, this precision surgical equipment is essential for quality medical care. An increasing and specific demand in the Southeast region for eye surgery in young children or infants compels us to equip ourselves with advanced surgical platforms and highly specialized anesthetists.

This microscope is notably compact, lightweight, and easy to move. It offers superior imaging quality, a high degree of luminous transmission, increased safety for the patient’s retina, and optimal recognition of the details of these very small eyes’ structures. Ophthalmologic surgery is a precision act that leaves no room for error.

The invited guests also had the opportunity to view a short video describing the Lenval Foundation, which works for progress and better care conditions.

It is an “invaluable gift, which will allow us to meet the ever-growing demand for highly precise ophthalmological interventions,” stated Dr. Catherine Fouret (a prominent specialist and representative of the ophthalmology department). “It is important to operate on the patient’s eye from childhood, or else their health will deteriorate as they grow.”

Philippe Pradal, President of the Lenval Foundation, was also moved by this gesture, receiving a medal from the Masonic Grand Lodge. “A beautiful demonstration of solidarity, a parable of the Gospel, and of solidarity,” he expressed.
