While health indicators are struggling, those published by INSEE give hope regarding the economic situation.
Nothing special, but they reinforce a stable situation, and sometimes even better, in this complicated context.
The rise in consumer prices in France slowed in July to 1.2% year-on-year, reported INSEE on Friday, confirming the provisional figures published two weeks ago. On a monthly basis, inflation was 0.1%, specified the National Institute of Statistics.
While inflation had risen to 1.5% year-on-year in June, July was marked by summer sales that were postponed to allow retailers to take advantage of the rebound in consumption after the last lockdown.
