Twenty years ago, the *Gym*, having just been promoted to Ligue 1, was on the brink of disappearing before rising from its ashes and enjoying a 2002-03 season that remains memorable to this day. To pay tribute to the players of this unforgettable campaign, a film retracing this epic journey will soon be presented, *“OGC Nice 2002-03: The Renaissance.”*
Directed by *Yannick Faraut* and *Paul Del Giudice* from *Kick Off Prod* (a Nice-based production agency historically linked to the Gym), this film is as much a declaration of love as it is a tribute. To men, to an era, to all those who kept the club alive to offer it a second chance, and then a new lease on life. Its release date is no coincidence, as it arrives almost exactly 20 years after the first victory of Gernot’s team in the elite, against *Strasbourg*.
It will be screened in a premiere for 2022-23 subscribers at the *Megarama Nice Vauban* cinema, with which the Gym has partnered, offering a free screening (by registration) on Friday morning, ahead of the broadcast on OGCNICE.COM on Friday evening.
The tribute will continue at the *Allianz Riviera* during the derby against *Monaco* in early September, with the invitation of the 2002 players to the stadium and a meeting with supporters at the Café des Aiglons.
