Each day, he shares his photographs of Nice and the French Riviera on Instagram. Nice Premium therefore went to meet Valentin Donato to find out more about his passion for photography.
Valentin Donato, 26 years old, has been living in Nice for 7 years where he works at a communications agency.
Since he was little, he has been involved in photography, a passion passed down by his grandmother. He wanted to pass it on in turn, and nowadays social networks are an ideal tool for sharing. He has thus made Nice his playground.
Lockdown, a turning point for his account
After a period of occasionally sharing some of his shots, it was in March 2020 that his account saw a real boom. Indeed, during the lockdown, with more free time, he decided to focus more on his Instagram account by posting one photo per day. Thus, he quickly gained followers and was able to establish a connection with his community, who at that moment needed an escape more than ever.
The art of living, Niรงoise style
His Instagram account is a blend of his passion for photography and his amazement for the landscapes of the French Riviera, and more precisely, the city of Nice.
Beyond the sumptuous landscapes, it is the life and animation that make up the image. His photographs reflect a moment of life and a place of meeting.
What he loves is capturing the present moment to represent the entirety of a scene and what is happening, as if experiencing it from within. Or to make people discover this region that makes so many dream.
โPeople feel connected to my photographs because these are places they know.โ
His inspirations
The French Riviera is a place of creativity for him. Drawn by the sea, the colorful facades, and the cityโs light, this is where he draws his inspiration from.
The represented scenes, the brightness that emanates from them, and then his filter created on Lightroom contribute to making his photographs very recognizable and easily associated with him.
And next?
He would like to be able to sell his photographs to his followers, so they can hang them in their living rooms, and perhaps eventually hold a photo exhibition. That would represent a real achievement for him.
And we wish him just that!
