New measures for reducing public lighting

Latest News

Christian Estrosi implements new measures following the presentation of his energy sobriety plan for the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis dated September 14.

With increasing energy prices and decreasing electricity productivity, these new concrete measures serve to counter the current situation. The goal is to reduce energy consumption by 10% this autumn. That is why since October 30 at 11 PM (with the transition to winter time), the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis has reduced its energy consumption by eliminating decorative lighting of buildings (town halls, museums, opera, Colline du Château, etc.). This will allow the people of the Côte d’Azur to continue enjoying their evenings.

New measures for road axes

Nice: Extinguishment of the Voie Mathis, as well as RM99 and RM6098/RM6007 at the airport level (Corniche Corniglion) up to the Napoleon III bridge. On the Promenade des Anglais, two out of three light globes on the streetlights will be turned off. Avenue Simone-Veil and RM6202 will be turned off from midnight to 5 AM to accommodate the numerous events in the area (football, rugby matches, and Palais Nikaia).

In the East sector:

  • Beaulieu-sur-Mer: Édouard VII street and Deroulède street.
  • Villefranche-sur-Mer: Corne d’Or boulevard.
  • Èze: De Lattre de Tassigny boulevard, Turbie road, and the seafront.

In the West sector:

  • Cagnes-sur-Mer: certain roads outside the city center.
  • Carros: the Industrial Zone.
  • Gattières: RM6210 and RM1 exiting La Baronne road.
  • La Gaude: transit roads.
  • Le Broc: all roads outside the old village and the Industrial Zone.
