From November 14 to 18, the city of Nice is organizing a week dedicated to diabetes prevention. An awareness campaign that will aim to inform the public as best as possible.
During this week, a comprehensive information and screening campaign for type 2 diabetes will be offered throughout the territory. This initiative is being led by the city of Nice, in collaboration with the Primary Health Insurance Fund of Alpes-Maritimes, the French Association of Diabetics of Alpes-Maritimes (AFD 06), and the Maison du Diabète et du risque cardio-vasculaire des Alpes-Maritimes.
In Nice alone, nearly 30% of people over the age of 60 are either diabetic or at risk. This is a significant concern, increasing by 5% each year over the past 10 years. However, by focusing on four essential pillars, it’s possible to prevent diabetes. Medical treatments, physical activity, nutrition, and good stress management can positively impact your health. This week is therefore essential for anyone wishing to learn more about diabetes. Numerous activities are scheduled, so we are providing you with the program for the week.
