After their first defeat of the season on Tuesday night in Lorient, the Gym will have to bounce back by playing once again away against AS Saint Etienne.
Tomorrow, Saturday, September 25th, OGC Nice will travel to Geoffroy-Guichard at 5 PM as part of the eighth round of Ligue 1. The Greens, currently nineteenth in the standings, seem to be the perfect opponent to recover after the defeat in Brittany. The club from the Cauldron is on a streak of 4 consecutive losses and has yet to secure a victory in this early season.
For this match, Christophe Galtier will travel with a smaller squad than to Lorient; indeed, Kasper Dolberg, Hicham Boudaoui, and Justin Kluivert are still in the infirmary. However, Jean-Clair Todibo, who left the field injured after an hour of play, is indeed in the group, as is Alexis Claude-Maurice, who is returning after a fibula fracture last May. His coach discussed his return: “He is coming back from a quite significant injury. He has been training with the group for 8-10 days. I had a talk with him today. He has obviously no pain and no apprehension.”
On the other hand, the Greens will have to do without their young first-choice goalkeeper, Etienne Green, who was sent off against Monaco.
