The editorial team of Nice Premium offers you an overview of the activities and events available in your region for this weekend, May 13 and 14.
Once again, the cultural offer in Nice is abundant. Whether you are into art in all its forms, attached to local traditions, a film buff, a bon vivant, or a fan of wide open spaces, there is plenty to do. Even sports enthusiasts have things to do this weekend in Nice.
Two new exhibitions to discover at the 109
The 109 contemporary culture center hosts two brand new exhibitions starting Saturday, May 13. โ1963: a look, 60 years laterโ presents the work from 1963 of visual artist Bernar Venet. A year not chosen at random, it marks a turning point in the artistic development of his career. Twenty years later, his work is brought back to light, exhibited under the gaze of a different audience. This exhibition โis accompanied by several mediation proposals to allow the public to approach the artist’s works from different angles.โ Tours with or without reservation, individual or group, are organized.
Mouna Bakouli, Amentia Siard Brochard, Johan Christ-Bertrand, all winners of the Young Creation Awards 2018 and 2019, a competition organized by the city of Nice and the Venet Foundation, are showcasing their works together in an exhibition titled โOn the Flyโ in the Grand Hall of the 109 workshop. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, and videos are to be discovered.
