The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, described these individuals as “bands of youths determined to engage in gratuitous violence, not hesitating to target the law enforcement.” According to him, it’s necessary to “learn from what has happened in all the major cities of France” and take action.
The leader of “La France Audacieuse” wants, first of all, to lower the legal age of majority from 18 to 16, “restrict the sale of fireworks online” and “initiate a major discussion on the role of social media since most of these delinquents film themselves to broadcast their deeds and consider themselves as heroes of TikTok or Snapchat.”
