Cรฉdric Cirasa, elected as a member of the political office of the Alpes-Maritimes UDI federation in February 2015, called a press conference this Friday morning to discuss internal issues within the party.
“I just want to denounce a kind of injustice.” With these words, Cรฉdric Cirasa expressed the chaos reigning within the Alpes-Maritimes UDI.
In reality, there were no elections for the presidency of the federation in 2016, which were initially planned for April and then postponed to June 4. The same scenario occurred on January 28, 2017, with elections scheduled but then canceled without any apparent reason.
Cรฉdric Cirasa spent the year away from decision-making, pushed aside by the current president of the Alpes-Maritimes federation and deputy Rudy Salles, due to allegedly falsified membership files.
“What does it change that he isn’t elected? He is a candidate in the legislative elections.”
Cรฉdric Cirasa no longer wants a “feudal system.” For him, Rudy Salles is no longer the right man for the job.
“He has been elected for 30 years, that’s enough, all good things must come to an end.” It goes even further. He believes Rudy Salles wants to renew his mandate, without any challenge, to satisfy his own people, “whom he employs thanks to the national assembly envelope.”
Cรฉdric Cirasa says he wants to give party members a voice and the opportunity to vote, an inexorable democratic principle, “it is not normal for the around 1000 members in the department, who pay, to not be consulted on who should preside over the federation. It is also not normal that there was no consultation on who would represent us in the National Assembly. I would have done it.”
He no longer wants renewable terms, following the American model, “and no more family members as deputies.”
