Jennifer Salles Barbosa, Deputy Delegate for Seniors and Solidarity, announced the new features of the 2023-2024 season. This announcement was an opportunity for cardholders of the PASS 55+ to come together and share a convivial moment at the Albert 1er garden.
“This season reflects you, young and dynamic!” joked Jennifer Salles Barbosa. After a summer characterized by the creation of a community restaurant, the city of Nice is offering a wide range of activities for the 2023-2024 season. A cardholder of the PASS 55+ card expressed genuine satisfaction with the offerings proposed by the metropolis. “I even participated in road code sessions!” she said proudly. Thus, the 2023-2024 season is marked by numerous new features.
Firstly, Jennifer Salles Barbosa emphasized that the city of Nice will be labeled as a โFriend of the Elderly.โ This label highlights territorial efforts in favor of seniors. In this way, the city of Nice is recognized for implementing the โsenior passโ system. This card, free of charge and intended for those over 55, also allows for free outdoor gymnastics sessions. It also provides access to events organized by the Senior Directorate. Finally, it offers access to a wide network of partners who offer reduced rates in various areas.
New Features of the Seniors 55+ Program
For this new season, the city of Nice has chosen to focus its activities around major areas. Thus, many activities related to the environment will be organized. Other activities will concern the health of seniors, including wellness sessions or sports. Lastly, emphasis will be placed on access to digital technology. Since it is known that the elderly are most affected by the digital divide, the metropolis is making it a priority. Additionally, for the most music-loving seniors, the studio 55+ located at the seniors’ house at the port is opening its doors. Finally, as the school year begins, it’s worth recalling the existence of the project โseniors on campus.โ
