Distribution of recycled computers to families of Collège Risso

Latest News

The Risso College in Nice hosts the Alpes-Maritimes department for the distribution of recycled computers to families without screens at home.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the distribution of recycled computers to families in need took place at Risso College. Organized by the Alpes-Maritimes department, notably with the presence of Éric Ciotti, deputy and president of the department’s finance committee. This project aims to support families who cannot have computers in their homes.

Throughout the year, several workshop sessions have been held for computer refurbishing organized by the college. This refurbishment is carried out by students of all grades working together under the guidance of their teachers. The director of Risso College even states that “the students are eager to participate in the computer sessions.”

This project brings together several partners, including the Alpes-Maritimes department, which invests €120,000 per year for the colleges. Additionally, the Rostand establishment provided numerous computers for the realization of the project. These computers are primarily for office use to provide students in need with better work tools.

An Eco-Responsible Approach

This project is part of the department’s eco-responsible spirit and its Green Deal policy. The goal is to ensure that nothing is wasted and that recycling is preferable to disposal. This helps young people, the students, understand their environmental impact and the importance of recycling.

Following the computer handover to families, three students elected as eco-delegates presented deputy Éric Ciotti with a small #ILoveRisso made using a 3D printer.
