AS Monaco – OGC Nice: a top-tier derby

Latest News

Overcoming Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes: was it truly an achievement or the promise of a radiant season ahead for the Eagles? Facing the best team in the league (11 points) tomorrow night, Francesco Farioli’s squad will certainly have their work cut out for them.

Led by Austrian coach Adi Hütter, the Red and Whites have so far had a solid start to the season with three wins and two draws. Leading the league, the Monégasques will aim to consolidate their position by halting Nice’s current good form. They can notably count on Takumi Minamino, recently voted Player of the Month for August.

Fourth in the league, the Eagles can take pride in having the best defense in Ligue 1 (only four goals conceded!). After three draws, the Gym managed to break this dull streak to secure their first victory against Strasbourg at home, before confirming last Friday against PSG. At the Louis II Stadium in Monaco, Hicham Boudaoui will be absent, while Alexis Beka Beka returns from injury and makes his grand appearance in the squad. With nine points on the board, Nice can hope for a temporary first place with a win.

Probable line-ups

Monaco: Köhn – Singo, Maripan, Magassa – Vanderson, Camara, Fofana, Henrique – Minamino, Ben Yedder, Golovin.

Nice: Bulka – Atal, Todibo, Dante, Bard – Sanson, Ndayishimiye, Boudaoui – Laborde, Moffi, Diop.

Tune in on Friday at 21:00 live from Louis II Stadium in Monaco to follow the match. TV broadcast: Canal + Foot / Pass Ligue 1 Amazon Prime Video
