Philippe Renaudi celebrates his first year in office amidst a double election, the presidential one and the election for the new deputies who will make up the National Assembly.
For the former, the UPE was among the economic organizations that, at the call of Christian Estrosi, expressed support for Emmanuel Macron in the second round. This Sunday and on June 18, the UPE will support reformist candidates.
Philippe Renaudi sees these elections as “so many opportunities for Azurean businesses as well as for the French economy […] to get the French economy going again. France has the means to produce a sustainable growth of 2 to 3% per year and to regain full employment.”
The condition? For him, “fundamental reforms must be carried out quickly! Businesses are waiting for concrete and rapid measures.”
The proposed solutions are the most classic…
This mainly involves four essential reform areas to lift our country (overhaul our educational and training system, renew our economic and social model, simplify and modernize the public sphere, reduce taxes).
Very concretely and mainly, the UPE06 advocates for:
- a reduction in taxes to improve business competitiveness
- the abolition of withholding tax because businesses are not tax collectors
- the removal of the hardship account, which is unworkable as it stands
- providing more flexibility to businesses
- the reform of professional training, education, and apprenticeships, in order to train a qualified workforce to better meet business needs… and to minimize the number of unfilled jobs, estimated at 40,000 in the region.
On the occasion of the General Assembly, the new President expressed satisfaction with the collaboration with the CCI (newly chaired by Savarino, from the ranks of UPE06) and other business organizations as well as with the counterpart from Bouches-du-Rhône.
The conclusion is on an optimistic note: The Côte d’Azur has all the strengths needed to win future battles… if all conditions are met!
