On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Italian company Zanaboni, specializing in the creation of classic and contemporary furniture, is showcasing a collection of models in collaboration with artists Tullia and Paolo Canciani, in an exceptional location, the Villa “Château des Terrasses” in Cap d’Ail, at the doorstep of the Principality.
Once inhabited by Grand Duke Alexandrovich, this sumptuous Belle Époque villa, built in 1885 by the British banker Henry Mendel, was entirely renovated in 2008 to host major art exhibitions.
The exhibition “Interior Décor and Art Reborn at the Château des Terrasses,” under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in the Principality of Monaco and the Municipality of Cap D’Ail, aims to recreate the decor and atmosphere of the late 19th century.
Indeed, upon crossing the threshold on the ground floor, a marvelous place welcomes us: the old rooms of the Villa, which overlook the Great Blue, house sofas, armchairs, tables, and cupboards finely inlaid and hand-painted using precious materials.
The decoration is completed by sought-after accessories, such as crystal lamps and 24-karat gold, rugs, and other objects in rock crystal, brass, and porcelain, as well as works by artists Carla Asquini, François Legrand, Yoko Grandsagne, Caline Müller, Tirole Marie-Aimée, and Paolo Canciani.
