Every year on July 14th, France celebrates its national holiday. Here is a small selection of places where you can admire fireworks this weekend.

In France, the tradition of fireworks on  July 14th was born from the desire to create a spectacular show to commemorate the historic event of the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, a symbol of the struggle for freedom and equality. Since then, fireworks have become an essential part of the national holiday, evoking national pride and the unity of the French people.

All over France, you can witness magnificent fireworks to celebrate the national holiday. On the Côte d’Azur, several places offer pyrotechnic shows. Here are some of the most popular places where you can admire fireworks this weekend:

July 13th

  • Antibes: at 10:15 PM on the seaside road (between Fort Carré and the beaches of La Brague)
  • Beausoleil: Cabaret evening, popular dance, pyromelodic show starting at 5 PM, Place de Libération
  • Beaulieu-sur-mer: Fireworks at 10 PM, Plage de la Petite Afrique
  • Roquebrune-Cap-Martin: Fireworks starting at 9 PM, Promenade du Bord de Mer

July 14th

  • Cannes: Fireworks at 10 PM, Baie de Cannes
  • Grasse: Musical entertainment, fireworks, musical evening starting at 7 PM, Cours Honoré Cresp
  • Juan-Les-Pins: Pyromelodic fireworks starting at 10:30 PM, Baie de Juan-les-Pins
  • La Trinité: Popular dance followed by fireworks starting at 6 PM, Place de la République & Jardin Tagnati
  • Menton: Firefighters’ Ball followed by fireworks from 8 PM, Esplanade Francis Palmero & Baie des Tablettes
  • Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat: Ball followed by fireworks starting at 9 PM

In Nice, no fireworks are planned this year. Only a lighting display of the 86 beams of light in memory of the victims of the attack at 10:34 PM on July 14th.
