On the occasion of the Francophonie Games, the AFAO* held its Elective General Assembly at the very location where all the delegations gathered.

Professor Clément Anicet Guiyama-Massogo (Central African Republic) is the new president. He will be assisted by an executive board that includes various French leaders: Vice President Ivan Coste-Manière (president of the French section of the academy), Secretary General Jean Vintzel, Deputy Secretary General Dominique Paret, General Treasurer Edmond Seuillard.

A number of projects await the AFAO, including working in collaboration with the AFCNO so that it can place the AFAO at the heart of its promotion and development framework for francophone sports and the values of the French language.

This passing of the torch reflects the values of the associations, emphasizing our ability to understand each other, complemented by the humanist values that form the foundation of the AFAO.

Ivan Coste-Manière is also the president of the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee of Côte d’Azur and is well-known and appreciated for his associative, sports, humanitarian, and Olympic engagement.

Ivan Coste-Manière will be responsible for communication, web development, and logo design in collaboration with Jean Vintzel. The initial steps of this extensive and multifaceted work were evident during the Abidjan Games, with notable collaborations with the Côte d’Ivoire NOC and its Academy, cultural and artistic exhibitions (featuring artists Kristian and Jean Jacques Beltramo), and the creation of the Gabriel Tiacoh Prize awarded to the President of the Ivorian Athletics Federation as well as our friends Lucien Kouakou, President of the Côte d’Ivoire NOC, and Marc Arthur Gaulithy, Commissioner General of the Games Exhibitions.
