New episode in the controversy regarding the new name of the Region.
Renaud Muselier has revisited his decision, which stirred his opponents from the National Front at the Regional Council: “This signature is a symbol, the word ‘south’ embodies a strong value to the French, Europeans, and the entire world. Associated with the name Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, it takes on its full meaning,” he expressed categorically.
In fact, there is a nuance between Friday’s communication and yesterday’s: it is no longer about a name change (for which one can imagine a more complex administrative procedure than a simple vote by the regional assembly would be needed) but a “signature” that would be added to the name!
We’ve moved from a waltz to a tango…with a “helmet”!
As for the content of the adopted decision, Renaud Muselier is so convinced of it that he indulges in Don Quixote-style affirmations: “SUD will contribute to the national and international radiance of our region. Through its symbolism, the term SUD will show a unified, expansive, and powerful region.”
Here we see a politician who is an expert in lexicology…and futurology!
If that were enough, we could organize an onomastics contest: a south here, a north there…and all the world’s problems would be solved.
Too bad we didn’t think of it sooner!
