“Faire”, the first B2B marketplace for independent retailers, has launched the “Open the Store of Your Dreams” contest. In partnership with the Federation of Nice Commerce and Craftsmanship (FCNA), this contest will run until October 31, 2024.
Revitalizing local commerce and encouraging Nice entrepreneurs is the vision of “Faire”. A marketplace that wishes to support small businesses against large retailers. To achieve this, the site offers a contest called “Open the Store of Your Dreams.”
Two prizes will be awarded to assist local retailers. The First Retailer Prize for new shops and the Vision for the Future Prize for expanding retailers. The winners will receive €2,500 to use on the “Faire” platform. They will also benefit from three training sessions with an expert and strategic support with Envi School. A one-year membership to the FCNA and the Initiative Nice Côte d’Azur entrepreneur network will also be offered.
Concerns about Local Commerce
According to an OpinionWay study, 65% of Nice residents are concerned about the future of local shops. However, a quarter of them are considering opening a store. Jean-Marie Debaisieux, president of the FCNA, emphasizes the importance of supporting these retailers to preserve the vitality of the neighborhoods. “Local commerce is the pillar of the local economy and a major contributor to the quality of life in our neighborhoods,” he explains, “By supporting these entrepreneurs, we strengthen the attractiveness of our city centers and create opportunities for sustainable economic growth.”

A jury, consisting of local personalities and experts, will choose the winners. The awards ceremony will take place on November 6 and 7, 2024 in Nice during a networking event.
