The Calèna Tour van has hit the road again to collect donations for the less fortunate. A collective mobilization led by the Endowment Fund of OGC Nice.
OGC Nice is launching its solidarity operation, the Calèna Tour, for the second consecutive year. Since Friday, December 6, the van adorned with the operation’s colors has been traveling across the Alpes-Maritimes. The goal: to collect toys, stuffed animals, and games in good condition to brighten the Christmas holidays of those in precarious situations.
“These year-end periods can be a source of isolation or distress for some. We want to mobilize the entire territory to offer a bit of warmth and comfort,” explains a representative of the Endowment Fund.
The official launch took place at the OGC Nice training center. The club’s players and staff were present. They were accompanied by children from the Méfi Club who made greeting cards for the elderly in nursing homes.
A mobilization with multiple steps
The Calèna Tour includes eight stops to collect donations. One of the highlights took place during the OGC Nice – Le Havre match. Supporters were invited to drop off their contributions at the collection points located on the forecourt.
The next stop is scheduled for this Wednesday, December 11, at the Villefranche-St-Jean-de-Beaulieu and Fontonne football club in Antibes.
Starting December 12, donations will be redistributed through partner associations of the Endowment Fund, including Les Restos du Cœur, the CCAS, and the Lenval and Antoine Lacassagne hospitals. “The van will act as Santa’s sleigh to bring a bit of magic to those who need it most,” emphasizes one of the organizers.
The Calèna Tour is an initiative that invites solidarity and sharing. All residents of the Côte d’Azur can contribute, either on-site or through online donations. Through this project, OGC Nice once again affirms its commitment to supporting the most vulnerable.
