For twelve years, it is **in the Port neighborhood** that L’Uzine has enjoyed great success. “Establishment managers have often told me that a restaurant becomes the start of an institution after ten years of existence,” confides Gaรซtan. A graduate of a business school in marketing and entrepreneurship, he financed his studies by working as a head waiter in a renowned Nice establishment known for its upscale cuisine. Armed with this experience, driven by the **desire to venture** and his passion for gastronomy, he decides to embark on the adventure and open his own restaurant.
“The opening of the restaurant required significant investments… Ten years ago, the industrial style was very trendy and allowed for limiting expenses in terms of furniture and decoration… This is how the name ‘L’Uzine’ was born!”
Over time, the clientele has become curious and loyal, allowing Gaรซtan to gradually invest in a comfortable and sunny terrace, a high-end professional kitchen, and recently, **an entirely reimagined decoration**.
“L’Uzine needed to evolve, for both the team and our clientele… Today, this decoration reflects me! In collaboration with Dune Studio architects, I wanted strong markers in the choice of materials and to bring more comfort while maintaining our warm ambiance. I wanted a somewhat theatrical and intimate atmosphere, with thick curtains and dim lighting.”
And it’s a new wave of success! L’Uzine embodies a **contemporary and elegant style**, with burgundy and terracotta hues, carpet and benches with bold patterns, custom mosaics, oak-upholstered furniture, art pieces from local artists… A unique space you have to be in!
