The exhibition “La Dolce Nizza” by Claudia Bevilacqua offers an ode to happiness during a visit to the gallery of the Charles Nègre Photography Museum. Until September 6, 2026, it allows you to rediscover Nice differently.
Accompanied by the notes of Italian music, the joy of living à la niçoise is celebrated by the photographs of Claudia Bevilacqua.
The “Dolce Nizza” immortalizes ordinary situations on the coast, with lightness. The Photography Museum gallery welcomes the timeless works of the Italian artist until September 6.
Through this exhibition, she shares her love for the azure coast city, with elegance and simplicity.
A striking aesthetic
In this minimalist gallery, Claudia Bevilacqua proposes portraits of women and scenes of life, with cinematic appearances. Emotion inhabits each photograph, captured with poetry and authenticity.
“My work is part of contemporary humanist photography: powerful images that show women (…) in the simplicity and truth of their environment,” declares the photographer.
With certain sections of yellow walls, the black and white photographs are highlighted. “Even though they are in black and white, I have the impression of seeing Nice in color,” confides Maria, a young resident of Nice.
The Italian photographer manages to convey a certain theatricality. These women, with a retro look, inspire freedom and carefree spirit. “I really feel the good mood through these photos,” observes Lucie, a Parisian visiting Nice for the first time.
Wide-brimmed hats, vintage dresses and swimsuits allow you to go back in time on the azure coast.
Nice, a place of creation
Claudia Bevilacqua had a real love affair with the Nice Dolce Vita.
Throughout the visit, visitors walk past the city’s different emblematic places: the Réserve, Cours Saleya, the narrow streets of Old Nice or even the Promenade des Anglais. “It makes me happy to recognize all these places. Since I’ve always lived here, I don’t always realize how lucky I am to live here,” admits Maria.
The Italian photographer managed to capture the models with spontaneity and accuracy. Whether they are acting or posing, the exhibition allows you to rediscover Nice from a new angle.
