A person accident occurred this Wednesday, September 16 around 7 a.m. in the Pont Michel sector, in Nice. A person was struck by a train on the Nice-Breil-sur-Roya line and did not survive. Rail traffic is interrupted between Nice and Drap.

A tragedy occurred this Wednesday, September 16 in the morning near Pont Michel station, in Nice. A person was struck by a train “just before 7 a.m.”, according to the SDIS 06. The train involved was operating on the Nice-Breil-sur-Roya line.

The victim did not survive their injuries. Emergency services were mobilized on site in the morning. According to emergency services, 17 firefighters and five vehicles were deployed at the accident site. The operations conducted near the railway line resulted in an interruption of train traffic.

Rail traffic is interrupted in both directions between Nice and Drap. The resumption of traffic is estimated at 11 a.m., according to SNCF.

Trains cancelled between Nice and Drap

Rail traffic remains highly disrupted in the sector. Trains between Nice and Drap are cancelled pending the restoration of traffic.
