The Herculis EBS Meeting will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Friday, July 9, 2027 at the Louis-II stadium in Monaco. The events for this new edition of the Diamond League are now known, notably featuring the return of the men’s 1500m and the arrival of the men’s and women’s 400m. Several champions from the 2026 edition had already made an impact on the competition, like Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who set a world record in the 1000m.
The Herculis EBS Meeting is preparing an anniversary edition for Friday, July 9, 2027. For its 40th anniversary, the athletics event organized at the Louis-II stadium will host several track and field disciplines. Ticket sales opened this Tuesday, October 20.
Over the years, the Herculis EBS Meeting has established itself as one of the major events on the international Diamond League calendar. Ten world records have been set on its track, including the men’s 1000m from the last edition. The Monegasque competition has also won the title of best meeting in the world seven times.
The 2027 program notably includes the return of the men’s 1500m. In 2024, Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen took advantage of the Monegasque track to set the European record for the distance in 3’26”73. This event will therefore once again be part of the races anticipated in the Principality.
Another novelty for this edition: the men’s and women’s 400m will be organized for the first time as part of the meeting, as will both 400m hurdles. These four events will complement the track program, with sprint and middle-distance races.
For women, spectators will notably be able to see the 100m, 400m, 3000m and 5000m, as well as the 400m hurdles. The high jump and long jump competitions are also on the program.
For men, the meeting will offer the 200m, 400m, 1500m and 3000m steeplechase. The 400m hurdles will also be featured, along with the pole vault and javelin throw.
Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Oblique Seville and Armand Duplantis stood out at the 2026 edition
The last edition of the Herculis Meeting, held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Louis-II stadium, was marked by several outstanding performances. Kenyan Emmanuel Wanyonyi notably set a new world record in the 1000m in 2’11”83, improving by thirteen hundredths the previous record held by British runner Noah Ngeny since 1999.
In the 100m, Jamaican Oblique Seville won in 9”88, ahead of American Jordan Anthony and Cameroonian Emmanuel Eseme. In the women’s 200m, Olympic champion from Saint Lucia Julien Alfred posted the world’s best performance of the year in 21”51.
The 400m races also produced two notable results. Botswanan Busang Collen Kebinatshipi won the men’s event in 43”44, with both a national record and a meeting record to his credit. Among women, Dominican Marileidy Paulino won in 48”67, also setting a new competition record.
In the field events, Swede Armand Duplantis won the pole vault with a height cleared of 6.07 m, improving his own meeting record. Greek Miltiádis Tentóglou won the long jump with a jump of 8.61 m, while Ukrainian Oleh Doroshchuk won the high jump with 2.32 m.
The 2027 program does not, however, include all disciplines from the previous edition. The men’s 100m, women’s 200m and men’s pole vault, notably, do not appear on the list of events announced for the next meeting.
This 40th edition thus aims to celebrate four decades of athletics in the Principality with a renewed program. On Friday, July 9, 2027, the Louis-II stadium will welcome athletes for another evening of Diamond League, featuring several races new to the history of the Monegasque meeting.
