A strategic and operational document for the medium and long term
In Alpes-Maritimes, the Department has committed to an in-depth consideration of the conditions for deploying Very High Speed and optical fiber with the realization of the departmental digital development master plan (SDDAN 06), which will be delivered at the end of April.
Involving local stakeholders and operators, the departmental digital development master plan of Alpes-Maritimes aims to define the development strategy for electronic communications networks to ensure very high-speed coverage of the territory.
It will define the economic, financial, technical, operational, and legal conditions to build the roadmap for each territory toward all the services enabled by optical fiber and Very High Speed.
Thus, it lays the cornerstone for planning and coordination in telecommunications, ensuring complementarity between public and private actions.
Guaranteeing access to digital services for all residents and businesses in the department
As a territorial solidarity entity, the General Council has worked for many years to meet the digital needs of all residents of Alpes-Maritimes, wherever they are, thus addressing the challenge of their digital accessibility.
It is now the responsibility of the General Council to develop the speed levels and quality of connections, avoiding the establishment of a divide between high-speed and very high-speed zones (reflecting differences in population density between areas).
