The Yellow Vest protests highlighted the discomfort felt by a large part of us who feel overlooked by governmental concerns and who do not identify with the active minorities at the forefront.
Let’s also acknowledge that, while the initial decisions at the beginning of this term partially liberated economic initiative, they have exacerbated this sense of injustice among those who do not see the hoped-for “trickle down” effect.
Nous Citoyens – France finally regrets that the street and roundabout demonstrations are dragging on with their array of vandals and multiple spokespersons that blur the messages and risk lasting disruption to our country’s society and economy; nonetheless, the Republic must give full attention to those of us who feel abandoned.
Nous Citoyens – France thus seizes the opportunity offered by the national debate to propose its responses and make its political project known. This is why Nous Citoyens – France intends to make an active contribution to the discussions that will be organized for this purpose on all the themes mentioned in the letter to the French people from the President of the Republic, including:
Ecological transition: how to assist the French in their daily lives for housing, commuting, and heating?
Taxation: how to make our tax system fairer, more effective, more competitive, and more transparent?
Democracy and citizenship: how to develop the practice of democracy and citizenship?
The organization of the State and public services: how to evolve the organization of the State and public services to make them closer to the French people and more efficient?
But Nous Citoyens – France will also advocate this citizen project in meetings organized at the municipal level, as it is indeed at this level that ideas can emerge which will help reduce digital, social, and territorial divides.
