The Alpes-Maritimes gendarmerie group organized the national ceremony of tribute to the fallen members of the gendarmerie. In 2019, six gendarmes died in the line of duty.

  • Gendarme Benjamin Delhaye,
  • Major Sébastien Berger,
  • Major Christophe Pensec,
  • Chief Warrant Officer Sébastien Devaud.

The Minister of the Interior, Christophe Castaner, wanted to convey a message to remind everyone of the values of the Republic and assured his support for the gendarmes. “They all loved France, they all served her. They chose to commit to her. They chose the uniform and the passion. The choice of service and courage. The choice of the Gendarmerie. Today, it is not just a tribute we pay them. No. Today, we honor their commitment. Today, we bring their values, their fights, their determination to life.” It was the Prefect’s Chief of Staff, Delacroy, who read this letter.
