In a charming village on the Côte d’Azur, specifically in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, you will find the first beach in France to be carbon neutral: Baia Bella.
The project was initiated by Baptiste and his sister Agathe, who wanted to transform their beach into a place that is beautiful, friendly, family-oriented, and most importantly, committed to the planet.
Therefore, concrete actions are implemented to make this site an environmentally friendly beach club:
- Installation of solar panels
- Sorted waste and returnable glass bottles
- Wooden furniture made in Europe
- Employees participating in beach cleanup
- Shower and rainwater reused for watering plants
- Organic and local products
- Micro-filtered water served at the table on site
- Use of recycled materials
Baia Bella also invests in high-impact environmental projects to offset its carbon footprint:
- “Durango-EcoMethane,” which supports the production of renewable energy in Mexico obtained from household waste
- “Maisa REDD+ Project,” which aims to combat deforestation in the Amazon
