Petr Zelenka / DRAO Collective
theater / creation
Pierre, in his thirties, lives in Prague. He wakes up one morning with a hangover and a handful of a woman’s hair in his pants pocket!? The night before, as often, he was drunk… In the guise of this lovely character of a solitary misfit, an alter ego of the Czech writer Petr Zelenka, normality meets madness, and intrigues: it’s like being in a Kafkaesque world with a touch of the Marx Brothers…
The DRAO Collective, already welcomed last season with the brilliant thriller Still Life in a Ditch, embraces this lively and inventive dialogue-driven writing with pleasure, built on continuous shifts and unrestrained humor.
Offering an almost cinematic form, the troupe of actor-directors presents a show on the edge of the fantastic that wonderfully exploits the stage space. And there’s much laughter in all these little stories that question the boundary between madness and normality. We laugh and sometimes are moved, because here, everyone tries to escape loneliness and ultimately talks only about the pains of life and love…
