The Nice Carnival 2026 ended with over 420,000 participants. The city took the opportunity to announce the theme “Long Live Love” for the 2027 edition, scheduled for February 9-28, 2027.

The Nice Carnival 2026 ended last night with the burning of the king and fireworks on the Promenade des Anglais. This year the event brought together more than 420,000 Nice residents and visitors throughout the city. The next edition will take place from February 9-28, 2027 around the theme “Long Live Love”.

The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi declared: “the 2026 edition of the Nice Carnival ends after an innovative and inspiring reign. The theme ‘Long Live the Queen’ honored feminine journeys from all backgrounds, conveying strong messages about women’s status and the place of women in our contemporary societies. With my deputy for Events, Youth and Equal Opportunities, we offered Nice residents an edition with rich and varied programming: the Carnival Village, the great charivari of Richelmi, the Veglione ball, the Carnavalina, the waiter race, the carnaval des frenchy, the Queernaval, and our neighborhood carnivals.”

Love at the heart of the 2027 edition

The 2026 edition recorded 20,000 more participants than the previous year. “On to the next edition. We invite you from February 9-28, 2027, so that our city vibrates to the most universal theme that could exist: “Long Live Love”. Throughout history, authors, poets and ordinary people have tried to find the right words for this feeling, sometimes sweet, sometimes burning. With this theme and a Queen now equal to the King, we will continue to write the most beautiful pages of the Great Book of Carnival!” clarified Christian Estrosi.

The Corsi, the Flower Battles, lou Queernaval and the Veglione totaled 226,000 spectators. The Carnival Village received nearly 140,000 visitors. The Carnavalina on February 14 brought together 38,000 people while the Charivari of Richelmi drew more than 6,000 participants.

Thousands of Nice residents took part in neighborhood carnivals and events organized in the municipalities of the metropolis.
