As part of the “Sport is in the Meadow” operation, an agreement was signed with Azur Sport Santรฉ (A2S) for senior health sports activities around the Senior Active Prevention (PAS) program implemented in Ascros, the pilot municipality of the brand-new project carried out by CDOS 06.
This initiative has, among other things, enabled 7 sedentary seniors, including two from the municipality of St Antonin, to have access to 2 sessions per week of physical and sports activity renewal for 3 months.
This program is initiated by the RSI, coordinated by Azur Sport Santรฉ, and funded by the Conference of Funders for the Prevention of Loss of Autonomy in the Elderly. CDOS 06 will continue to support this activity with its own resources until June 2018.
In a convivial atmosphere, participants were thanked for their involvement and were each offered an activity sustainability kit by A2S. Moreover, a set of various equipment was made available to the municipality by the Olympic movement for future sessions.
In conclusion, and as an example, Jeannine, the eldest of the group, shared that she has been walking for 45 minutes every morning since she started the sessions with Mรฉlanie ASPE, a sports coach highly involved in this “Sport is in the Meadow” operation, which is unique in France and of which the municipality of Ascros can be proud to have been chosen.
