Formula 1 driver for Scuderia Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, unveiled a new luxury yacht at a ceremony held in La Spezia, Italy. Named “Sedici,” this customized Riva 102 Corsaro Super bears a name linked to the number 16 displayed on the Monegasque’s single-seater since his Formula 1 debut.

Under the sun of La Spezia, Italy, Charles Leclerc appeared alongside his wife Alexandra to christen a newly acquired luxury yacht. The boat, a Riva 102 Corsaro Super measuring 102 feet and built by Italian group Ferretti, now bears the name “Sedici,” which means “sixteen” in Italian.

This choice references the number 16 used by the Ferrari driver in Formula 1 for eight seasons. An allusion also to the Monegasque’s birth date, born on October 16, 1997.

During the ceremony, organized before a select circle of guests, Alberto Galassi, CEO of the Ferretti group, stated: “Charles’s passion for Riva, which is of course mutual, testifies to the quality and beauty of our boats, and we are deeply pleased about it. If such an exceptional driver, a true icon of style and elegance, chooses one of our boats again, it means that Riva, and in this case the magnificent 102-foot Corsaro Super, offers unparalleled standards in beauty, comfort and technology. Many thanks again Charles, enjoy your new Riva!”

The yacht was designed according to the Ferrari driver’s preferences. Furniture and several accessories come from Italian manufacturer Minotti. Decorative elements signed by Jim Thompson and Poliform complete the interior layout. Some finishes were also chosen directly by Charles Leclerc, notably the door handles.

On board, a custom bar integrates a grill, an induction cooktop, two refrigerators and an ice machine. The master bathroom is clad in Calacatta marble.

The Sedici also displays technical characteristics close to the automotive world. The yacht is equipped with two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines of 2,638 horsepower each. Total power thus exceeds 5,200 horsepower. The vessel can reach over 28 knots, or approximately 52 km/h, with a cruising speed of around 24 knots.

Approximately 30 meters long, the Riva 102 Corsaro Super has five cabins that can accommodate ten guests. The boat also includes a beach club of approximately 35 m², nearly 100 m² of outdoor spaces and large glass surfaces opening onto the Mediterranean Sea.

According to several specialized media outlets, the acquisition amount is estimated between 11 and 13 million euros according to the manufacturer’s data not including the cost of certain options. This new purchase complements the Monegasque driver’s collection, already passionate about prestige cars and high-end residences.

Images from the christening have been circulating on social media for several days. On X and Reddit, some internet users criticize the lifestyle associated with luxury mega-yachts in a context marked by debates about the cost of living and carbon footprint. Others point out that a high-level athlete remains free to enjoy the income generated by his career and sponsorship contracts.
