The following countries were represented: Spain, Russia, Argentina, Peru, Romania, and Belgium. There were also many Italian participants who came to spend the holidays with their families on the Cรดte dโAzur.
Several regions of France were present, including Provence, Poitou Charentes, รle-de-France, Languedoc, Midi-Pyrรฉnรฉes, Aquitaine, Auvergne, Picardy, Limousin, and the Lyon region. Notably, there were two players who came specifically from Rรฉunion Island and a significant delegation of young Corsicans brought by Bastia club coach, Akkhavan Vilaisarn.
Five International Grandmasters: Miguel Llanes Hurtado from Spain, Vladimir Epishin from Russia, Nenad Sulava from Croatia, Fernando Peralta from Argentina, and a young 24-year-old Frenchman, Franรงois Fargรจre.
Four International Masters: Benjamin Bujisho from the Nice Chess Club, Pavel Govciyan from Cannes Chess, Arturo Vidarte Morales from Peru, and the female Master Martine Dubois.
The podium was highly contested as there was only one player with 6 points out of 7 (Miguel Llanes Hurtado). The subsequent positions were decided by tiebreaks since 11 players reached 5.5 points out of 7.
