In the Alpes-Maritimes, for the sixth consecutive day, no new deaths have been recorded, remaining at 248 (following a revision in the number of deceased (-5) in nursing homes).
France has recorded 87 new deaths due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the epidemic’s death toll to 29,296 since March 1, according to figures released Tuesday by the public health authority.
This toll is divided between 18,912 deaths in hospitals (+53) and 10,384 (+34) in nursing homes and other social and medical-social establishments, whose data had not been updated since June 2. The number of people hospitalized for a COVID-19 infection continues to decrease, with 11,961 patients compared to 12,315 on Monday, which is 354 fewer in 24 hours.
The number of severe cases in intensive care, which has been steadily declining for two months, also continues to decrease, falling below one thousand to 955 cases from 1,024 on Monday (-69). One has to go back to March 18 to find a daily report with fewer patients in intensive care (931).
As for contaminations, the public health agency, Santé publique France, reported Tuesday evening 403 additional confirmed cases, for a total of 154,591 since the beginning of the epidemic.
