The Ministry of Health released the daily report on the epidemic in France on Wednesday evening:
The number of people hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection continues to decrease and stands at 17,941 (-527), even though 432 new admissions were recorded in twenty-four hours.
Intensive care units are also continuing to empty; they currently have 1,794 severe cases. Taking discharges into account, the number of patients is decreasing, with a balance of -100 compared to Tuesday.
New deaths have, however, been recorded. In the past twenty-four hours, 98 people have died in hospitals and 12 have died in nursing homes for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) and medico-social establishments, bringing the total to 28,132 people dead from Covid-19 in France since the start of the epidemic.
Furthermore, 791 hospitalized people were able to return home after recovery since yesterday, bringing the number of recovered patients to over 63,354.
