The PRIZE for ETHICS and FAIR-PLAY from CROS CÔTE D’AZUR (2011 Promotion)

Why an Ethics Prize?

UNESCO defines fair-play as follows: “Fair-play means much more than just adhering to the rules; it encompasses the notions of friendship, respect for others, and sportsmanship. It is a way of thinking, not merely a behavior.”

Fair-play can be summarized as loyalty in sport, a physical activity performed as a game for purposes of humanism and therefore education.

The Ethics and Fair-Play Prize of CROS Côte d’Azur recognizes those who have practiced these notions, worked to promote them, or accomplished a significant act of sports ethics during the year 2011. This prize concerns practitioners, of course, but also leaders, coaches, referees, or associations for their action in favor of sports ethics.
