In one month, the official kickoff of the European Masters Games will take place, and the EMG village will open its doors on the Promenade du Paillon. This weekend, two events will mark the occasion!
Tomorrow, Friday, pétanque, the demonstration sport of the upcoming EMG, will be in the spotlight with a competition organized by the USCCA pétanque club, hosting local teams (men’s, women’s, and mixed) for a day focused on conviviality with a hint of competition (see registration details at the bottom of the page).
The USCCA club will display the EMG colors and an information desk will be set up to inform participants about the various competitions included in the games: The official one for those over 55 and the Discovery one for those over 25, both of which will take place at the Henri Bernard boulodrome from October 2nd to 4th (Download the technical booklet of the competition)
The final is scheduled for 6:30 PM in the presence of elected officials and numerous prizes can be won, including free registrations for other disciplines (pétanque being free as a demonstration sport), tickets to OGC Nice matches, trophies, and other surprises.
On Saturday, the festivities will take place on the water mirror of the Promenade du Paillon with an information stand from 9 AM to 6 PM where you can learn all about this major international sports competition dedicated to athletes over 35, along with numerous activities such as a “Senior in Shape” session (10:30 AM-11:30 AM), a giant Zumba class amidst the water jets at 5 PM, the reproduction of the EMG NICE 2015 logo by volunteers and the EMG team that will be captured in an aerial photo, and the unveiling of the village plan and its activities.
A weekend in the colors of the European Masters Games, which currently has more than 4,000 registrants and will undoubtedly be the highlight event of this autumn in Nice.
So, on your marks, get set… EMG!
