Najat VALLAUD-BELKACEM, Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Research, has asked her services to support the schools and, through them, the municipalities most severely affected by the floods, particularly by contributing to the replacement of educational materials.
The ministry, the Nice academy, and the departmental education services of Alpes-Maritimes are exceptionally mobilizing โฌ100,000 to support schools for this purpose.
Additionally, the most severely affected secondary schools, colleges, and high schools will receive dedicated emergency resources amounting to โฌ60,000.
Emmanuel ETHIS, the rector of Nice, visited the schools in Cannes and Biot the day after the storms to be alongside the teams mobilized to welcome students as quickly as possible.
Najat VALLAUD-BELKACEM visited the Nice academy on October 12.
Since that date, an assessment of the educational needs for the schools has been conducted.
The rector has asked the academic services to direct resources to the most critical situations, with a view to a rapid resumption of educational activities in the best conditions for the students.
