Sunday, September 25th, starting at 10:40 AM on the church forecourt โ Castagniers
High Mass, a ceremony at the War Memorial, a procession, and convivial festivities are on the program for the Saint Michael’s patronal feast taking place in Castagniers this weekend.
Initially religious then enriched with secular celebrations, the feast of the Patron Saint of the parish of Castagniers was an opportunity to bring together family and friends from surrounding villages for annual reunions around large tables set for the occasion.
The feast lasted three days from Saturday to Monday, gradually shifting to Friday through Sunday.
Still very popular, this patronal feast is organized by the Castagniers Festival Committee, chaired by Laurent Amstutz, featuring musical entertainment, pilou, aubades, a dinner dance, pรฉtanque tournament, cycling race, Henri Diude’s One Man Show (Saturday evening at 9:30 PM), and even a Nissart ball (Sunday at 4:00 PM).
Detailed Sunday morning program:
10:45 AM: High Mass at the parish church, celebrated by Father Ludovic Wuilleme, with the participation of the Saint Michael choir, followed by the Saint Michael Procession.
11:45 AM: Laying of wreaths at the war memorial, next to the church forecourt.
12:00 PM: Start of the Ceremony under the marquee and speeches by official personalities.
12:30 PM: Honorary aperitif offered by the Municipality and the Festival Committee.
