This Sunday, March 6, 2011, grandmothers are being celebrated. Like every year, the dilemma of the gift arises. Here is a small selection in which you might find the gift idea you need.
“Oh, is it Sunday already?!” Grandmother’s Day is not the most popular of celebrations. The proof is that most people don’t even know it’s happening this Sunday. You still have a few days left to find THE perfect gift.
Traditional gifts…
For those whose grandmothers are traditional, the inevitable bouquet of flowers, which always makes an impact. Roses, lilies, daffodils – as many flowers to delight their recipient. In another register, for literary grandmothers. For Julie, it will be a book as a gift: “My grandmother loves to read, she has read a lot of Marc Levy lately, so I think I’m going to base my idea on that for Sunday,” she confides. More modern options are also available.
…or trendy gifts
To ride the wave, you can always think of gift boxes. Increasingly varied, these have been a great success. Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day… so why not Grandmother’s Day? “There’s something for everyone,” says Jérémie, looking for the right idea for Sunday. Adventurous, relaxing, or foodie grandmothers – there’s a box for each. Jérémie is still hesitating, “I’m going to consult with my sisters so we can agree,” he explains.
If you don’t have any ideas, a gift box or gift certificate remains a reliable option. Alternatively, do as Céline does: “I’ve never given a gift for Grandmother’s Day, I just call them and wish them well, that’s all!” No concern about gifts in this case.
