On October 27 in Genoa, the first edition of the “Paganini Genova Festival” will open its doors, a project organized in collaboration with, among others, the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa.
Taking place over three days, the program offers a rich series of events, including conferences, concerts, and proposals for cultural and gastronomic tourism revolving around the figure of the great Genoese.
Not to be missed, the exhibition “Paganini, his instruments and his city” will host a precious collection of Paganini’s relics at the Strada Nuova Museums, a UNESCO heritage site, centered around Il Cannone, the precious Guarnerius that Paganini bequeathed to his native city in his will. The exhibition will feature several multimedia stations capable of recreating the atmosphere of an authentic Paganini performance.
There will also be music in the city, with a musical station at the “Giardini di plastica” where Paganini’s birthplace once stood, offering the possibility to listen to Paganini’s works in a setting of great beauty and historical importance.
As part of the Paganini Genova Festival, the three winners of the prestigious Paganini Prize will perform in concert, and the list of competitors admitted to the final phase of the 2018 Prize will be announced following preselections in New York, Vienna, Moscow, Canton, and Genoa.
But the Paganini Genova Festival will not only be about music: restaurants from the Genova Gourmet network will offer traditional dishes in “Paganini’s interpretation,” while the winner of the “Aperitivo Paganini” contest will be awarded on October 27 at Cafรฉ Cavo. After the Bellini and the Rossini, Genoa is launching an original cocktail dedicated to the great Genoese composer!
